Another Winter Storm... The Biggest Yet!

CURRENT WEATHER: LIGHT RAIN 33*

Yay yay yay! Winter made one last unexpected show today. Went I went to bed last night, the forecast was for sleet/rain in the morning changing to all liquid rain by early afternoon. So when I got up at 8:30 AM, I looked outside and there was nothing going on. I go out in the living room and watch a western movie that was on with my grandfather ( I couldn't think of anything else to do, lol). That movie ended at 10AM. So I get up and walk out into the kitchen and BOOM! It's snowing outside! Yay! It started out lightly and then all of a sudden it poured snow. And I mean POURED! Soooo..... to make a VERY long story short... I went out in all the unexpected snow and played around on the roads sliding around and all that jazz. So all that rain they were calling for fell as snow... at the end of it all we got about 5 inches... the biggest snowfall of the season :-). Here are some of the pics... there are a lot so bear with me, but it's for your entertainment.
OK so the picture above is when the snow really got crankin'.
And the picture below is after all was said and done after about 5 hours.
OK so after some pics of the yard, I had the brilliant idea to drive around in this stuff, lol. Now because they were calling for rain and not snow, it caught everyone off guard so the snowplows never showed up! So I was a bit crazy. So anyway I drove down to my community beach...
..and had pictures taken of me. :-) It's pretty cool having heavy snow at a beach... kinda a contradiction. Cool.
This is the car I drove around the snow in, pictured here at the beach.
After the beach, I headed down about a mile of snow covered roads...
...to our very large pier where I bike to every summer day. That was a heck of a sight to see.
After running up and down the pier a few times I got back in the car and decided to head to K-Mart. LOL. I know the perfect time, lol. So I went down to K-Mart and saw 3-4 cars in the ditch. So cool.
After K-Mart I head home and play in the snow with my doggy Taz :-)

Now remember when I woke up today, they were calling for rain... what an awesome surprise the weather had for us. I loved it!

What To Do In All This Wintry Weather

CURRENT WEATHER: FLURRIES 31*

Snow, ice and cold! So much winter, so little time. So I must make the most of what I have... and I have. As clearly scene in the picture below. There is nothing better to do on a snowy, icy frigid day when schools are closed and the government is shut down because of bad road conditions then go to Baskin Robins and get a HUGE ice cream cone! =)

Anatomy Of An Ice Storm

Ok so this past week/week and a half has been very busy in the weather department. At first it looked like we'd get a little snow, then they said it would be a blizzard, then they said no, it would be all rain, then they said a little of everything... GAH! So in the end it turned out to be pretty much ice. This was such a cool storm that I tracked it's every move and decided to make it one post... sortof like the diary of a storm kinda thingy. So we will start at the beginning and follow through to the end of the storm.

Saturday February 10, 2007 9:00 PM
CURRENT WEATHER: CLEAR 26*

Ok so I wanted to begin posting about this storm a few days ago, but these things are too risky to predict that far out, and really this far out too, but I couldn't control myself anymore. So let me briefly explain what is happening. Earlier this week people were starting to say that we are gonna have a pretty good snowfall here next week, then as this week progressed and we approached this weekend, people were screaming the words BLIZZARD! Some weather guy even said 12"-18" for Philadelphia! So now I have decided to jump in the bandwagon, and put my two cents in... so every few hours (when possible) I will update what I think is gonna happen with this thing after new weather models come in. As of now 9:00 PM Saturday, the storm looks like a rain maker for us here, although everyone is saying snow/mix for us, I just don't see the cold weather making it here in time for the storm, and if it does, I don't think that it will be strong enough. There will be plenty of moisture, that's for sure, just of what type? That's to be seen. So as I see it now, the weather map below is my current prediction. It doesn't show where the mix/ice will fall, I will start predicting that tomorrow. BTW, I am the red dot. Stay tuned.

Sunday February 11, 2007 10:00 AM
CURRENT WEATHER: SUNNY 24*

I am so stinking awesome! I am so far nailing this think right on the head... which is really bad for me because I want snow :-(. Anyway, as I said last night, I would put in the "mix" precip in todays forecast. It looks like the storm is tracking further and further north, which means warmer air comes closer to us, and in effect ruins the whole blizzard concept for me... and makes it a heck of a blizzard for everyone that usually gets it, New York City, Boston, Portland, etc. This thing is gonna be a monster! Record breaker. I predict today, 2-3 days out from the storm that Philadelphia, NYC, Boston, Burlington and Portland will be shut down by this thing. No kidding. It is gonna be monstrous. You wait and see. This is gonna be a record breaker. Unfortunately, not for me, it looks like a 1"-3" snow/sleet/rain mixed bag which is so boring and pointless. I hate it. So this is my updated look at what is gonna fall where. Later today I will post an accumulation map.

Sunday February 11, 2007 11:35 PM
CURRENT WEATHER: CLEAR 28*

After two posts, I have decided that all computer models are pointing to nothing but a little snow, some ice and a lot of plain old fashioned rain. So I would be wasting my time if I continued posting my own maps. So I am gonna start using other weather maps with official weather forecasts.

Monday February 12, 2007 7:45PM
CURRENT WEATHER: SCATTERED FLURRIES/SLEET 34*

Alrighty! So I am ticked (angry face). I will mostly be on the wet side, NOT the white side of this stinkin' little conniving blizzard. This thing is gonna start as some light snow at my house, and then in the late morning change to sleet/freezing rain (no fun) and then in the late afternoon go to all liquid, non freezing rain. And rain hard all night... at around 33*... that's one stinkin degree shy of a blizzard/ice storm. So SO SO SO unfair. But what am I gonna do? So then early to mid morning Wednesday it should all end as a brief change over to a mix and then end with a really cold blast of arctic air... again. Here's what the forecast is for our area. I am right in the 1"-3" crap. So when I wake up tomorrow to head to work, hopefully it will be snowing... hopefully.

If you look at Accuweather they say that they believe the main start of the precip will get in here at around 6AM, but beings that flurries and sleet pellets are already here at 7:45 PM and as you can see the radar below, the main beginning isn't that far from here. So I think it it will start at around 1AM - 3AM.

Tuesday February 13, 2007 8:00PM
CURRENT WEATHER: SLEET/FREEZING RAIN 27*

Ice Ice Baby! Lol. So I was kinda wrong in the weather department. We had some pretty heavy snow this morning, then it went to sleet, then freezing rain. I left work at 2:30PM and had to "skate" across the parking lot to my car, take 10 mins to scrape the ice of the windshield, then go back inside and get my manager Nick to help me do the rest of the car so that I could see out. It was too thick for me to do. That took about 30 mins. So cool, and icy, lol. Then I come home very carefully and I just went outside and BOOM the ice is so thick you can't open the car doors! Now they are saying it may take a few more hours before we get above freezing here. So tomorrow it is supposed to be all liquid rain, then turn to heavy snow for a brief time. We'll see. Now as far as the future, there are already some weather computer models coming out with a Blizzard hitting the east coast on Monday... but we'll hold off on that one.

Thursday February 15, 2007 6:30PM
CURRENT WEATHER: CLEAR/WINDY 24*

OK so the storm is over, it was pretty much an all out ice storm here. Overnight Tuesday into Wednesday the rain became heavy, but at my house and points west we never got above freezing, so we had all ice, the delayed the opening of my work and we got out early too. The airports and schools and government were all shut down. Pretty cool stuff. I would have still rathered the snowstorm though. Getting into the car after freezing rain is a pain in the butt! And walking around.... i mean skating in your shoes around the parking lot and on side walks is pretty dangerous, but a whole lotta fun! Here are some pics.

Above are pictures I took as I was driving to work after the storm. Look at all that ice on the trees! Pretty darn cool eh?

Below is what my car looked like the morning I had to go to work. It was completely incased in ice, the entire car! I had to get up, scrape the ice from the whole car. Basically the whole car so that when I was driving chunks of ice didn't fly off and kill people, lol.

And this is what it looked like inside the car. Definantly not going anwhere anytime soon, lol.

Isn't that FREAKIN AWESOME! SO COOOL!

Anna Nicole Smith Is Dead

CURRENT WEATHER: SUNNY 23*

Wow, I can't believe it. I heard the news yesterday at around 4PM at work on the radio and my jaw dropped. I mean I always thought that she was disgusting and unreasonable. However in 2002-2004 when I watched her show on E!, I saw that she had true, strong love for her son and close family. After her son died, I doubted her future, I just didn't think it would come to this. Even though she was "out-there", it is so unfortunate that she is dead, leaving behind her newborn girl.

SNOW!

CURRENT WEATHER: SNOW 19*

So this year has sucked in the snow department. I have not yet seen any snow sticking to the ground AT ALL! By now we are supposed to have 15"!! Not this year... we have had a total of about 3"! THAT'S ALL! And that happened while I was in NYC so i didn't even get to see it. Well now we have a little clipper moving through, and we are supposed to get 1"-2"... we'll see. So I have to work tomorrow, at 8AM-530PM, and it is now 1AM and I am about to run outside and play in the pitifully small amount of snow, lol. Hey it's something. :-)

The Super Bowl;More Bitter Cold

CURRENT WEATHER: CLEAR/WINDY 25* WINDCHILL OF 12*

Soooo, of course I am a Raven's fan and of course they didn't make it to the Super Bowl. So I had to choose a team to root for, either the Indianapolis Colts, or The Chicago Bears... I decided to root for the Bears, and of course they lost. I didn;t really care, I just watched the commercials, lol.

OK so now onto the cold. It is cold. And is gonna get colder. We are gonna be in the SINGLE DIGITS FOR ACTUAL TEMPERATURES AND -10*, YES 10 BELOW FOR WINDCHILL. Brrrr! I will keep you updated on that.

I Am So Fortunate

CURRENT WEATHER: CLOUDY/SCATTERED FLURRIES/WINDY 32*

OK so I was listening to my local radio station HOT 99.5 tonight and they were playing the regular Top 40 stuff they always do, and then at 10PM they just started carrying a new national radio show called "Dawson Mcallister Live". Dawson is a therapist that takes phone calls from guys and girls 25 and under, so I was listening and OMG! talk about crazy. I mean there are a lot of troubled teens. I feel so sorry for them. I mean there are 14 year old girls on there talking about getting raped and pregnant, and then giving away the baby, and guys and girls talking about being in drug and suicide clinics. Wow. I have always known that I have been fortunate, but after a few minutes of this show... it just made me that much more thankful for my life that I have. NYC

Current Weather: Clear 50*

So I touched on this in the post below but lets get into it in full today. So Saturday Jan 20 my mom and I went to NYC because on Monday we were going to see Rachael Ray. So we get there and we use my card to reserve the room or whatever. So that was good... btw we stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn Timesquare. So we get up to our room which was 1123 and we LOVED IT! Nice beds, flatscreen TV great view and yatta yatta yatta. So anywho, we then go out and eat at one of our favs in Manhattan, "Bubba Gumps". I love that place. So after we leave there we get back to the room at around midnight. I pass out because I am EXHAUSTED! So I wake up the next day having nothing to do... I can actually sleep in! LOL. So when we get ready to walk around we decide to find out where Rachael Ray's studio is so we don;t get lost on Monday, because the show audience is a first come first serve basis. So we find it an freeze our butts off! I mean it is FRIGID out the entire trip. So we walk around all day, nothing special. We then go and eat at some place my mom saw Rachael Ray eat on her show called "The Eatery". It was SOOOOOO crowded! I mean like a slaughter house crowded, lol. No I don;t know if that means really crowded or not but I thought it went well so I said it, lol. Soooo then we go to Macy's, you know how they have the Macy's parade in NYC every year, yeah that Macy's. It was ok. Whatever. So then we get back to our room and the manager comes knocking at our door. He says that they need to move us because that room needs to be worked on. So for making us move they said the hotel would treat us both to dinner in the attached fancy restaraunt. We were like "cool". So we moved to room 1203 i think... or something like that. Anyway it sucked! So my mom went down and complained and they moved us to 823, it was exactly 3 floors down from our first room, it was just as perfect. So then we ate at the restaraunt which was OK. So the next day (Monday) was the best. We get up and get ready for Rachael Ray and it said that they would let the audience in at 2:30 PM so we leave at 1:00 and we get there at 1:15 and there were like 25-35 people ahead of us. So we wait in the freezing cold and wait and wait and wait and all of a sudden a women with headphones on and a tablet walks up and down the line pulling people out of line. WHAT!?!? I was ticked, however I found out later that these were people that were turned away before so then I was OK. So they start letting us in at 2:45 and then we get in do security check, wait in an audience holding room for 20 mins and then get let into the studio. And that's the cool part. It was like all fake walls and what not and a HECK of a lot smaller than it looks on TV. I mean it was cool. All the cameras and mics and oh so cool. So they had a guy come out and he's comedian and he got us pumped. So then he said ok we are gonna do some pre-recording. And what it was, was they had us clap loud and crazy like the best thing in the world just happened, and they recorded it. Then they did the same thing for a mild, calm clap. They said that they would edit it into the show when they needed it. So then Rachael came out and immediately started the show. And everytime they went to commercial people came rushing over to her and they did her hair and make-up and went over lines. And us audience were dancing and singing to the music they playde during commercial, lol, it was so fun. So it was cool. At the end one of the cameras were right in my face so I think I have a close-up at the end, that would be cool to be on TV on the number 1 viewed daytime show! It airs next week. So excited. So then after that we left and it was snowing and cold!! We walk around and eat at Olive Garden, go shopping, I spend money and then we go to M&M World and Ben and Jerry's. We went back to the room and sleep. We wake up and go to check out and find out that the hotel charded my card EVERYTIME THEY MOVED US! Big mistake. It was like almost $2500 of wrong charges on my account! So we got that straightened out fast, and therefore got yet another free meal at the restaraunt, lol. So after we eat dor free again at this high priced restaraunt we walk around more and then go home.
Here are some pics from my phone, note how in everyone I am bundled... yes it was sooo cold!
Me in Time Square

Here I am all bundled up

Me and Mr. M&M Presley... see he IS still alive. Rock on Elvis! (He has changed a little though).
Look at all of the M&M's!! SUGAR RUSH! :-)

COLD!

15*
Weather at Time of Post

OMG! It is so freaking cold out there! Shivering, bone chilling cold! So I went to The Rachael Ray show in NYC and we were there in the Big Apple from Saturday night the 20th til Tuesday afternoon the 23rd. We walked around and it was brutally cold up there. I mean not much more than here, but they have all the buildings which act like windtunnels so it just made it feel worse. So anyway we get home and by then I was done complaining that we had no winter yet and no snow or cold weather... lol. So then I get home and on Thursday while at work we had snow squalls... so cool. It would be sunny, then get really dark and gray and then POUR SNOW! It was sweet. Did that a few times. Then the last one of the day came at 7:30 PM and it was like a BLIZZARD! Windy and heavy snow instantly covered the highway as we were driving. Very cool. That was the actual cold front passing over. And then the bottom dropped out! Take a look at the temperatures as I type this! TOOOOO COLD! I am the little red dot under Annapolis.

Work Life

WEATHER AT TIME OF POST 31*

So yeah, work is work. I mean I like my job, I can do it and I love all the people I work with, and I am fed very well there. LOL. I like the money to, I mean who wouldn't. However, I have realized that when it comes to work, I pretty much am like everyone else... I wish i didn't have to do it. But that's life. So DEAL WITH IT!

Freaky Weather; Rachael Ray

WEATHER AT TIME OF POST 65*

So yeah, practically all this month old record high temperatures are being crushed. It is like spring here, and even like summer some days... AND ITS SUPPOSED TO BE THE COLDEST TIME OF YEAR NOW! Whatever, I am just ready for some snow.

OK so my mom and I are going to NYC next Sunday thru Tuesday to see Rachael Ray (famous cook). We will be at a taping of her show "The Rachael Ray Show". So excited. We are staying right in Time Square in the "Hilton Garden Inn". Yay.

Update

Ok so from here on out my updates will be regularly done. This is gonna be a big one to bring you up to speed. I have a good job now, in November I started my new job at Bank of America. OMG! This job is awesome. The pay is GREAT, I get full insurance, life plans, 401K, and a whole lot more that I have no clue what it is, but it's good! LOL. My grandmother had her last chemo treatment from her cancer in November, yay for that :-). Ummm... oh yeah, our meetings have been changed from Sunday to Saturday because so many people are joining our congregations, the fastest one is the Spanish Congregation, so The Spanish congregation and Easton get Sunday, and we get Saturday which is cool, it leaves football so I can watch it... YAY!!!! Speaking of which, GO RAVENS! Lol. OK so actually I guess this is it for now. Oh and i can't wait for Kelly's new song to come on the radio! I will freak when I hear it. It has been 11 months since she released a new song, so everyone is sooooo excited. OK talk to you soon. Remember to check on my monthly music plays and my videos from time to time. My links are in the sidebar to the right.

OMG! IT'S BLISTERING HOT OUT THERE!

For reference, I am the little itty bitty baby pink "X" right smack dab in the middle of the rechid 108*-113* section! Ok here is whats gonna happen....It is going to be dangerously hot across the East for several days this week with high temperatures well into the 90s and perhaps as high as 102 degrees in some spots. The worst days in terms of heat and humidity will likely be Tuesday and Wednesday. When you combine both factors, it will feel as hot as 108 to 113 degrees to the average person from Raleigh, North Carolina to New York City each afternoon! Even in parts of southern New England it could feel as hot as 102-107 degrees.

Tuesday, July 18, 2006

Yay! We're Safe!

Ok so I get into work today and look at the weather, because its 105* out and thats a little to hot for me. I HATE IT! Ok so I was looking to see when relief was coming and BOOM! I see a tropical storm off the coast of North Carolina. I didn't even know there was anything there! Ok so, i look at it and it is gonna hit the coast of NC, but fortunately not here, because a cold front that will drop the temps from 100's down to 90's (i will have to wear a sweater, lol) will save us and push the storm out to sea before it hits us.... hopefully. By the way I am the red square on the second picture.

I Have Decided To Start Posting Now

Ok so, I have a lot to cover since I havent posted anything since the beginning of May. During this time, I have been going to a learning center to get my GED and brush up on my skills in math and writing every Tuesday and Thurday morning from 9:30-11:30. I just sent in my GED application last week. On June 9 I went down to West Palm Beach, Florida for the District Convention. It was awesome. Saw lots of the friends in our old congregation. My friends are the best. Ok so back to what you all have missed... oh yeah, my grandmother just found out she has a really bad decease ( I dont know how much she wants everyone to know, so I cant tell you what it is), but she is having major surgery, and certain organs removed from her body tomorrow. Which yeah is bad enough, but if you remember, tomorrow is Thurday July 6th... the date of Kelly's concert!! So mommom will be having her surgery the same time I am at the concert. I asked to make sure it was Ok that i went and she said of course it was fine. So i am gonna go to the concert, which by the way i am so excited about. OMG OMG OMG! LOL. What else? Oh yeah and recently I have been talking to a lot of radio DJ's. Yes, radio stations. LOL, for the past month or so, I have been on the air atleast twice a day. no kidding. Everyone is used to it now, but its fun. LOL. Oh yeah and guess what I can do on here... you probably already read it in my title, but I can literally call my blog leave a voice message and it will post that for me as soon as I hang up. So like if I am stuck in the middle of Brazil, i could simply call my blog and tell you what I was up to, lol and it would post it for me and you could hear my wonderful voice... and I can also text my blog. Cool huh? So if you see a post with no title but it has the option to play it... thats a voice post. Guess what? I went through like a "job crisis" in June. I wanted to leave REMAX and stop working for Lisa :O, lol but that was very brief, lasted for like a week, then my senses kicked in again, but in that week I got hired at two places, Hollister and Abercrombie and Fitch... but at A&F I couldnt start until june 28 when i turned 18, so i went to Hollister and was gonna work there until i turned 18. So I started my new job at Hollister and quit after 2 hours and walked out telling them to keep the money and pretend that I never worked there, lol. Seriously thats what I did. I just didnt like it there, they had me folding clothes in the back, NOT COOL! So i quit and tossed out the whole "working at retail" idea out the door. So I came back to my senses and stayed with Lisa and am doing better than ever. YAY! Another thing...i promise i am almost done... another thing is we have had SO MANY FREAKIN THUNDERSTORMS! The worst EVER! Like 10 in the past month, and they have had hail, and horrible lightning and winds stronger than I have ever seen. It has been amazing! OMG! And I actually got trapped in a storm while chasing 3 funnel clouds... no joke, seriously. It was so scary and the best part... I GOT IT ALL ON VIDEO!!!! Its amazing to watch. I will try to figure out someway to get it on here... even if it takes a few months. LOL. Otherstorms actually caused our yard to completely flood, as you can see in these pictures from my cell phone...

Ok, well I guess thats all for now. You have officially been updated. :). I hope ya missed me... just not too much. ;)
